I decided to run for state representative
because I was discouraged at the way things were going in
Harrisburg. It seems to me that little was being done to address
the problems that are affecting the residents of Pennsylvania.
I hope to deal with the issues using a common sense approach and
to truly represent the residents in the 148th district.
My top priorities will be to look for true property tax reform
and to find a solution for our seniors with regard to school
taxes. Healthcare is also something that has to be solved to
make it affordable for all of our residents. This will most
likely require the Pennsylvania House and Senate to work with
the federal government to find a viable solution. Traffic
congestion, living on a busy roadway, is an issue that is
becoming worse almost on a daily basis. There are many things I
think we can do to solve the problem including better use of
technology, expanded mass transit, and working with businesses
to stagger work hours and shifts. I am also interested in
ensuring that our emergency responders, police, fire and
emergency medical services all have adequate training and
funding to meet the challenges that they will face in the
future. Encouraging land preservation and open space is also
important so that our children's children will have the benefit
of enjoying nature as we have.
I know these problems can be solved. By cutting wasteful
spending and using common sense we will find solutions to these
and other issues to make our state an even better place to live.
